Tuesday will be JV tryouts ONLY, so players who wish to tryout for JV should come to the gym from 3:30-5:30.
All current 10th and 11th graders must try out for JV (or higher) this season. Grades 9 and below are welcome to come tryout the team. Players may be sent home early, but are encouraged to come back the next day if 9th grade or lower.
Players will be notified of decisions at the end practice. If selected for a team, players will return for the first day of practice Thursday, Oct. 1.
Middle school players wishing to come to either JV or Varsity tryouts can come later if needed for school without penalty.
Gym protocol:
For all practices and games, we will be following the COVID-19 Athletic Fall Preparedness Plan.
Players will be required to wear a mask at all times in the building, on and off the court per MPS guidelines.
Athletes will enter the school at Door 7 each day, sign in, and all players will sanitize their hands before getting on the court.
Social distancing will be maintained throughout the time in the gym as best as possible, and all the balls will be sprayed and disinfected at the beginning and end of each practice.
We will also adhere to the rule of if you feel sick at all stay home and ask that all players and families keep us readily informed of COVID-19 exposure and other health issues.
In preparation:
Fill out the 2020 Registration Packet.
You can drop off your registration form during school hours in the Athletic box or send a digital copy to head coach Robbie Brink (brink.robbie@gmail.com) and athletic director Rob Hollway (Robert.Hollway@mpls.k12.mn.us).
Make sure you have a current sports physical on file if you are not turning a new one in. The MSHSL has allowed a 1 year extension on all current and valid physicals (so if you have played a sport in the past year for Southwest it is likely that will still be considered current).
